Thomas Gruenewald

Thomas Gruenewald was born in Potsdam, Germany in 1935.When he was 11 months old his family came to the United States, living in Chicago for a year where his physician father reinterned and took state board exams. With the assistance of refugee placement organizations, he found a practice in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Tom continued his education at Columbia University, earning an MFA in theater directing. Based in New York, he directed and taught in theaters and schools across the U. S. When he and his wife moved to Sharon he continued to direct and act with several theater companies and schools.
