After reading Will Durant's Story of
Philosophy in high school, I knew I had to study philosophy. I majored in philosophy at Wellesley College and went to on to get a Ph.D. in that discipline from Yale. I have taught philosophy and literature at the University of Michigan, the University of Arizona, Deerfield Academy and The Hotchkiss
School. I have always been interested in the most basic questions. What is true? How ought we to live? Does life have a meaning? After being at boarding schools for twenty-five years my husband and I retired to Sharon in 2007.
